A Theory of Energy-Transducing Production Field

Abstract
We advance a theory of energy-transducing production field, which characterizes the analytics and econometrics of energy consumption and dissipation associated with a production system. The energy-transducing production (or simply trans-production) field is generated from a production process together with its intrinsic energy transduction process. Production is characterized with viable production technologies (or systems) defined over an input space constructed with two disjoint sets of production input factors x and transduction factors z. A production technology is characterized with a classical production function y=f(x,z), with y as production output, together with a novel transduction function v=g(x,z) with v denoting “transduction outcome”, which is intrinsically accompanied with but typically exclusive from production output (i.e., goods), for example of the emissions inevitably accompanied with electricity generation. The model can be empirically validated and verified in terms of econometrical and data analysis.

刘建华教授于1986年在美国Pennsylvania State University 获得Industrial and Management Systems Engineering专业的博士学位,1986年-2004年在美国University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee任助理教授、副教授、教授,2004-2011年于香港理工大学担任Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies的系主任、Chair Professor,C.Y. Tung International Center for Maritime Studies的主任,2011年-2015年任City University of Hong Kong管理科学系教授,Center of Transport, Trade and Financial Studies的主任,现为International Association of Transport, Trade and Service Studies的主席,北京理工大学珠海校区的访问教授。刘教授的研究兴趣包括Transport and Trade Logistics, Marine and Transport Energy and Environment, Industrial Emission Analytics, Real Volatility and Risk Analysis, Computational Diffusion and QVI (Quasi-variational inequalities) Analysis, Supply Chain and Operations Management,在OR等运筹学国际顶尖杂志上发表研究论文60余篇,主持香港GRF等多项基金,获科学中国人 2007 年度人物等多项奖励。
