QE/Multicore Software Engineer

This is a software engineering role within the A/P DSD Operation based in
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
- Development, testing, documentation and support of microcode and the associated driver for Freescale PowerQuicc/QorIQ Communication Processor.
- The generation/publishing of benchmark results and Application Notes that illustrate the performance available from Freescale PowerQuicc/QorIQ Communication Processor.
- To provide technical support to internal/external customers in microcode, upper level software and application development
- To deliver technical training on PowerQuicc Communication Processor processors to internal/external customers.
- Able to work with cross functional teams from different regions during the development process.
- Occasional travel to work at customer site is required
Specific Knowledge/Skills
- Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Electronic/Microprocessor Engineering, Communication Engineering, Software Engineering or similar disciplines.
- Exposure to microprocessor embedded software systems and embedded applications development.
- Solid understanding of communication systems, awareness of the 3G/4G wireless infrastructure market and equipment, experience in networking technology such as broadband access and CPE would be an advantage.
- A strong embedded software and operating system-Linux/RTOS background and knowledge is mandatory.
- Experience in development under Linux environment and Linux kernel-space programming would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience in Multicore processor programming and parallel programming methodology would be an advantage.
- Strong programming skills in C and assembly language is mandatory. Good knowledge on TCP/IP and Data Structure is mandatory. Familiarity with chip architecture and programming methodology of any sophisticated Freescale Communication Processor would be an advantage.
- Able to work with task/project driven and process oriented
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, good team work spirit and adaptability.

Software Test Engineer
Location:
Job Description:
The Software Test Engineer in Performance benchmarking should have experience in performing functional and performance test of embedded products with Linux BSPs on PCBs.
Qualified candidate will have BSEE/Computer Engineering.
Preferred to have university classes in networking communication and embedded hardware/software (preferably PPC and Starcore DSP based)
and have some knowledge using embedded product with Linux BSPs (Board Support Packages).
Examples of some BSP performance tests are IPV4 and 6, running IPSEC, NAT/Firewall etc.
The role will involve automating benchmark tests and also run application based benchmarks such as running WLAN Wifi, NAS, NVR, VOIP applications.
Ideal candidates are detailed oriented and have ability to perform analysis and isolate embedded performance issues.

Examples of some BSP performance tests are IPV4 and 6, running IPSEC, NAT/Fireball
Job Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal English Communication skills
Write scripts to automate the performance benchmark tests to reduce in test cycle time and achieve test repeatability.
Leverage deep embedded application expertise to drive use case driven validation of embedded tools.
Thorough troubleshooting and comparison of test results and analyze deviations from expected result. Proactively drive actions with development teams to resolve the performance deviation gaps.
Drive test infrastructure enhancements for automation and virtualization of test machine farms.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with networking test tools and equipments such as Smartbits, IX-Chariots etc
