蓝志凌于2002年获美国西北大学计算机工程博士学位。 她目前是美国伊利诺理工大学的计算机科学系的教授和美国阿贡国家实验室的客座研究员。她的研究领域为并行和分布式系统,主要研究方向为资源管理和调度,数据分析,容错,电源效率,性能分析和优化。她在这些领域的国际会议和刊物合作撰写了近百篇论文, 曾获得若干国际会议最佳论文奖。她多次担任并行和分布式系统的重要国际会议的技术委员会成员。现任IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed SystemsTPDS)的编委。
